What is Chiang Mai Flower Festival?
The Chiang Mai Flower Festival takes place on the first weekend of February, when the cool season brings the city's gardens into full bloom. It celebrates the flowers of northern Thailand, especially the damask rose that is a symbol of Chiang Mai, along with chrysanthemums, orchids and other blossoms. Highlights are a parade of floats covered in flowers that winds through the old city to Suan Buak Haad park, flower and garden displays in the park, traditional Lanna music and dance, and a festival beauty pageant.
