Today
When is Japan Mountain Day?
Every year on August 11.
What is Japan Mountain Day?
Japan Mountain Day (Yama-no-Hi) invites people to appreciate mountains and the blessings they provide. Established as a national holiday in 2016 after a grassroots campaign, the date was chosen because the number 8 resembles a mountain and 11 resembles two trees.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
