July Morning
Greet the dawn, embrace the freedom.
When is July Morning?
Every year on July 1.
What is July Morning?
July Morning is a beloved Bulgarian tradition where thousands gather at the coast and in the mountains to welcome the first sunrise of July. More than dawn-watching, it symbolizes freedom, hope, and fresh starts, mixing rock music, camping, and community. It began in the late 1970s as a quiet act of defiance under communism and took its name from a British rock anthem.
