What is Good Neighbor Day?
Good Neighbor Day on September 28 invites everyone to reach across the fence — literally and figuratively. The day traces back to Becky Mattson of Arizona in the 1970s and was formalised by President Jimmy Carter's 1978 proclamation; in 2003 the date was fixed at September 28. It is a small annual nudge to introduce yourself, lend a hand, and remember that strong communities start with the people next door.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
