What is World Snow Day?

World Snow Day, on or around the third Sunday of January, was launched in 2012 by the International Ski Federation, FIS, to bring children and families to the snow. Ski resorts and clubs in dozens of countries offer free or discounted lessons, equipment and activities, from skiing and snowboarding to sledging and snowshoeing. The idea is to give children a first taste of winter sports and outdoor fun, and to encourage an active lifestyle in the colder months.
