Power the future, break the dependence.
When is Global Energy Independence Day?
Every year on July 10.
What is Global Energy Independence Day?
Global Energy Independence Day encourages the world to embrace alternative energy sources like solar, wind, and geothermal power. First celebrated in 2005 and founded by green-energy advocate Michael D. Antonovich, it falls on July 10th to honor inventor Nikola Tesla's birthday and his early renewable-energy vision. The day promotes reducing dependence on fossil fuels and building a sustainable future.
