What is Westminster Dog Show?
The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is the best-known dog show in the United States, held in New York since 1877. It is America's second-longest continuously held sporting event, after only the Kentucky Derby, and thousands of dogs from more than two hundred breeds compete to be judged closest to their breed standard. Winners of the seven groups meet in the final for Best in Show, while agility and obedience contests and a huge television audience make the event a celebration of dogs well beyond the show ring.
