Today
When is National Nonprofit Day?
Every year on August 17.
What is National Nonprofit Day?
National Nonprofit Day honors the charitable organizations that power education, healthcare, and social justice work across the country. The date marks the anniversary of the Tariff Act of 1894, which first granted U.S. nonprofits tax-exempt status, paving the way for the modern nonprofit sector.
