National Black Cat Appreciation Day
Black cats bring good luck too.
When is National Black Cat Appreciation Day?
Every year on August 17.
What is National Black Cat Appreciation Day?
National Black Cat Appreciation Day celebrates black cats and pushes back against centuries-old superstitions that unfairly branded them as unlucky. The day highlights how differently black cats are viewed around the world — as symbols of good fortune in Japan and parts of Britain, and simply as loyal companions everywhere else.
How to celebrate
Mark the day with a poster made in Dayfeed — pick your favourite photo as the background, share it to your story or group chat, and set a reminder so you never miss it next year.
