What is National Day of Listening?
The National Day of Listening was launched by the nonprofit StoryCorps in 2008 and is held on the day after Thanksgiving in the United States. StoryCorps has recorded hundreds of thousands of conversations between ordinary people, many of them preserved at the Library of Congress. The day asks people to set aside shopping for an hour, sit down with a relative, friend or neighbour, and record a conversation about their life.
