What is Animal Cruelty / Human Violence Awareness Week?
Animal Cruelty / Human Violence Awareness Week, observed the third Monday-to-Sunday week of April each year, is jointly championed by the National Education for Assistance Dog Services and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence to highlight the strong research-backed link between cruelty to animals and violence against people. The week promotes animal welfare, family safety, education, and legislative advocacy through local shelters, schools, and community events.
