International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction
Prepared for disasters, ready for less damage.

When is International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction?
Every year on October 13.
What is International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction?
The United Nations General Assembly declared 13 October the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, and the day argues that disasters cannot be avoided but that their damage can be cut. Households make a family disaster plan, keep an emergency bag packed, train for the unexpected and learn the early warnings, while institutions cooperate on the risks they share. In Türkiye this work runs under AFAD, the Presidency of Disaster and Emergency Management.
