How to put a national day widget on your iPhone home screen

The fastest way to know “what national day is today” is to see it the moment you unlock your phone. On iPhone, that means a home-screen widget.

Two-minute setup

1. Install Dayfeed from the App Store.
2. Open Dayfeed once and grant notification permission (this lets the widget update in the background).
3. Long-press an empty area on your home screen until the icons jiggle.
4. Tap the + button in the top-left corner.
5. Search for “Dayfeed”.
6. Pick a widget size:
   • Small — today’s day only
   • Medium — today’s day + the next 2 upcoming days
   • Large — today’s day + the next 5–7 days
7. Tap Add Widget.
8. Drag it to wherever you want on your home screen.

That’s it. You now see today’s national day every time you unlock your phone.

Picking the right widget size

• Small — best if you only want the one day. Minimal, glanceable.
• Medium — the practical default. Today + what’s coming next.
• Large — best on iPad or if you want to plan a week ahead.

Customizing the widget

Dayfeed widgets support:

• Theme — match the widget to your wallpaper (light/dark/auto)
• Categories — only show days from the categories you care about (food, awareness, international, etc.)
• Language — separate from the app language; useful if your home screen is in English but the rest of your phone is in Turkish

Android equivalent
